Fitness/Personal Training
K e v i n D o n m o y e r
Certified Personal Trainer,
Nutritionist, Fitness Coach
What inspired you to start your personal training journey?
What inspired me to start my personal training journey was being injured in a hit and run. I was struck by a 19 year old driving an F150. During this time, I was in and out of the hospital. I became overweight. Physical therapy did not help me recover, nor did pain medicine or injections. The doctor told me that I probably wouldn't be able to jump again. After being depressed about my physical and mental state, I decided to take things in my own hands. I would Google different exercises that I could do with a back injury. On top of that, I changed my eating habits. I went from 260 lbs to 180 lbs in just a few months. After I saw that I could get results myself, I decided to go to school, and get certified so I could help others.
Are there any challenges you've had to overcome as a personal trainer and model?
Challenges that I've had to overcome as a personal trainer would definitely be client consistency. Where I live most people only go to the gym around the beginning of the year as a New Year's resolution, or right before summer starts. The thing about fitness is that it's a lifestyle change; not just a one week thing. Challenges being a model is it's hard to get paid for what you know you're worth. A lot of times if you don't do contracts with a company, then the work is a hit or miss.
List one of your favorite products that you use as a certified nutritionist to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
One of my favorite products that I use everyday, and sponsor, is Frog Fuel Power Protein. It's non-bloating, 0 carbs, 0 sugar, 0 fat, and liquid collagen protein.
Can you leave our readers with a nutrition tip that can keep them healthy and balanced?
I would suggest that everyone drinks plenty of water, and stay hydrated.
"I would suggest that everyone drinks plenty of water, and stay hydrated".
When did you begin your modeling journey?
I began my modeling journey in August 2021.
As a model, what are some brands that you have been able to collaborate with?
Thus far, two Black-owned brands : LLPX2 Regeneration Active Wear and Greek Couture Eyewear.
How do you balance your schedule being both a personal trainer and model?
The way that I balance being a personal trainer and a model is I allow my clients to book their schedules. Once those are in place, I schedule my modeling sessions around that.
What are some words of advice that you can give to future personal trainers who want to start coaching people starting their fitness journey?
Some words of advice that I would leave to future personal trainers is to learn your clients. Get to know them on a personal level. Ask about their day or personal life. Having great communication with your client helps the workout session move more smoothly, and allows your client to feel more comfortable reaching their fitness goals. Also, stay off of your phone and focus on your client. I've been told many times during consultations that other personal trainers stay glued to their phone instead of their paying client.

Tell us more about the coloring books that you published.
I have gender neutral coloring books ranging from vehicles, mermaids, birds, and dinosaurs. I feel like coloring helps with certain mental issues, and it can help relieve stress. Coloring is good for adults and children.
Outside of being a personal trainer, model, and author, what are some other hobbies that you enjoy?
My biggest hobby outside of being a personal trainer, model, and author is probably being a huge gamer. Other than gaming, I like to skate, bike ride, go karting, swim, and spend my free time at amusement parks and water parks.
