LDL Magazine was honored to have you as an interview feature last year in our anniversary issue. Can you list three words that describe your growth within the past year?

The honor was and is mine! I am incredibly grateful and honored to have my very first print feature and then first COVER feature be for a beautifully curated, Black woman-owned magazine that prioritizes highlighting Black women and other minority voices and ventures. And, during Black History Month! From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

My three words would have to be: Black, Lateral, and Persistent.

By Black I mean it has been beautiful, creative, vulnerable, bold, foundational, and overall positive. My family had a great Kwanzaa celebration this year, which was a necessary reminder of the values I live by. I also took my first long-term trip to The Continent in 2024 – visiting Kenya and Ghana. Overall, I recommitted myself to loving Black women as an act of self-love, which is why I’m dedicating this feature to Black women.

The year was also lateral and persistent because I spread my reach out beyond modeling and made steady progress across multiple ventures. It’s tempting to worry about not having enough major, quantifiable, outward-facing accomplishments, but that would be selling myself short. I not only walked for exclusive fashion shows, but I also modeled in my first live newscast, and participated in some amazing photo shoots. I also began pursing music in earnest by singing for multiple events and securing a regular restaurant gig, and I’ll be releasing the official video from my Revolution Through Renaissance concert, where covered many songs from Beyoncé’s Renaissance album, and used only
Black-owned businesses as vendors.
