What inspired you to start your perfumery journey?
I’ve been captivated by the world of scent for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I had an uncanny ability to identify specific olfactory profiles, earning myself the unofficial title of “professional family scent recognizer.” I would spend hours outdoors, exploring nature and experimenting with the scents of pine needles, pinecones, soil, grass, and more.
As I grew older, my curiosity about how fragrances are created—and who creates them— only deepened. This passion became such a central part of my life that I often found myself staying up late, researching fragrance composition when I should have been resting for my job as an elementary school music teacher.
It was during my teaching career that I started noticing a recurring theme: many of my colleagues loved perfume but avoided wearing it due to sensitivity issues. Intrigued, I dove deeper into the potential causes, and one ingredient kept appearing in my research—an ingredient so complex, I couldn’t pronounce or spell it at first.
