What inspired you to start your journey as a hairstylist?

I was born in South Sudan, and even growing up in a war-torn country, I found joy and purpose in hair. I started braiding at eight years old.  I  learned by watching my mom, cousins, and other women in my community. Braiding was more than a skill; it was part of our culture and daily life. After immigrating to Canada, I continued to do hair, while also exploring modeling and other opportunities.  My passion for hair never faded. It has always been my first love, and that love eventually grew into what is now Braid Queen LA.
